(Portland, OR) -- A man accused of a car theft that resulted in the death of the car owner's dog is in police custody. Authorities say 34-year-old Francisco Vincent Gonzales was arrested yesterday evening at a motel on North Interstate Avenue. Portland police say Gonzales is facing multiple charges, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and aggravated animal abuse. Officials say the dog, named Kona, was found dead in the car, which had been abandoned near Kelly Elementary School Tuesday afternoon.
