Inslee Exec Order Intended To Reduce Recidivism

(Seattle, WA)  --  An executive order signed by Washington Governor Jay Inslee is designed to reduce recidivism among former prisoners who re-enter society.  The governor says the order will better support the successful transition of people leaving prison and returning to their communities.  Inslee says state agencies will be directed to reduce recidivism and increase public safety with stronger transition programs so more people can build lives based on jobs rather than on crime.  The governor's office says about 17-thousand people are incarcerated in Washington state prisons and about 95-percent will return to their communities.
