(Olympia, WA) -- Authorities say a man who's accused of shooting at a Mason County, Washington sheriff's deputy was mistakenly released from jail. Officials say 27-year-old Joshua Weythman Baker shot at the deputy during a high-speed chase on March 31st, but the deputy wasn't hit. Authorities say after Baker ditched the vehicle and began to run on foot, he was apprehended and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail. Authorities say the circumstances surrounding Baker's release Friday are unclear, but it's believed he received a bus ticket to Olympia.
