Portland Voters To Decide On Gas Tax-hike Proposal

(Portland, OR)  --  Voters in Portland will decide next week on whether to approve a ten-cent rise in the city's gasoline tax.  Officials say the tax increase, which would last four years, would generate an estimated 64-million dollars in revenue.  More than half would be used to fix streets, and the remainder would pay for bike routes, traffic-congestion relief, sidewalks, and crosswalks.
