(Portland, OR)  --  Best-selling author Katherine Dunn of Portland is dead at the age of 70.  Dunn, who was a National Book Award finalist and author of the international best-seller "Geek Love," died Wednesday of lung cancer at her Portland home.  She first gained notoriety on a Portland radio show which featured her reading short stories, and wrote a "Willamette Week" column called "The Slice."  "Geek Love," a novel released in 1989, was about a genetically-engineered family of circus sideshow performers.  Dunn is survived by her husband, Paul Pomerantz, and her son, Eli.
