DEQ Issues Cease And Desist Order To Bullseye Glass

(Portland, OR)  --  Bullseye Glass in Portland is being required to stop the use of lead and other materials in the manufacture of its products for ten days.  Governor Kate Brown directed the Department of Environmental Quality yesterday to issue the cease-and-desist order, after air-quality monitoring at a daycare center near the glass company revealed immediate, short-term health risks from lead levels.  DEQ says test results showed the lead levels were four times the 24-hour standard.  Bullseye Glass Company vice president Jim Jones told KOIN-TV the new restrictions are making it extremely difficult for the business to move forward.
