(Salem, OR) -- Governor Kate Brown and members of the Oregon congressional delegation are calling for a temporary halt to oil trains traveling through the Columbia River Gorge. The call comes days after the derailment of an oil train and a subsequent fire that burned for hours in the community of Mosier. Area homes were evacuated for several days and the town's water and sewer systems were affected. Union Pacific spokesman Justin Jacobs says the railroad won't run crude oil through the Gorge "anytime soon."
