Proposed WA Ballot Measure Targets Tolls, Transit Taxes

(Olympia, WA)  --  A new proposed ballot measure from anti-tax activist Tim Eyman is making the rounds in Washington.  Initiative 869 would end tolls on I-405, repeal car-tab fees charged by cities to pay for local road projects, and eliminate weight fees charged by the state to help fund highway improvements.  Eyman has until December 31st to turn in more than 246-thousand signatures of registered voters in order for I-869 to appear on the November 2017 ballot.  The Everett "Herald" quotes critics of the proposal as saying the measure will meet staunch opposition if it goes on the ballot.
