WA Murderer Escapes Custody In Yakima

(Yakima, WA)  --  Authorities say a 25-year-old convicted murderer is on the loose after escaping from work-release in Yakima, Washington.  Officials say Jake Lee Eakin failed to return to the work-release center Sunday morning as scheduled.  Eakin was 12 years old when he was convicted as an adult and sentenced to 14 years in prison for the 2003 beating and stabbing death of 13-year-old special education student Craig Sorger.  Anyone with information about Eakin's whereabouts is asked to call Yakima police at 509-575-6200.
