Woman Sentenced To Probation For National Park Vandalism

(Fresno, CA)  --  A woman who vandalized seven national parks in 2014 will serve two years probation after pleading guilty to federal misdemeanor charges.  Casey Nocket damaged rock formations in Oregon, California, Utah, and Colorado by using markers and acrylic paints to create drawings that she then posted online.  Federal prosecutors say Nocket would be fined, would complete 200 hours of community service, and would be permanently banned from all federally-managed parks, forests, and recreation areas.  Nocket vandalized Crater Lake National Park in Oregon as part of her 26-day vandalism spree nearly two years ago.
