(Yakima, WA) -- Washington apple growers are predicting a strong harvest this season. The Washington State Tree Fruit Association is forecasting nearly 133-million boxes of apples, up from last year's 115-million. It's still below the record year of 2014, which brought in nearly 142-million boxes. Officials say favorable weather has aided this year's crop, helping produce a high-quality product and allowing growers to begin the harvest early.
