(Portland, OR) -- A plan to house about 400 homeless people in a city-owned warehouse will be formulated, after the Portland City Council gave the go-ahead. The warehouse is located in Northwest Portland on the Willamette River. Council chambers were packed last night, as people supporting and opposing the idea had their say. Plans call for providing beds for homeless people in the warehouse, and include a portable kitchen inside, while portable bathrooms, showers, and washing machines would be installed outside.
