(Eugene, OR) -- A residence hall on the University of Oregon campus will no longer bear Frederic Dunn's name. The university's Board of trustees has voted unanimously to remove the name of a man who had served as a former professor in the 1920s and 30s, and as an exalted cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan. The campus's Black Student Task Force requested last year that Dunn's name be removed from the building. The building will be called Cedar Hall until it undergoes a renaming process.
