WA Jobless Rate Falls Slightly For August

(Olympia, WA)  --  Washington's state unemployment rate is slightly lower, after holding at five-point-eight percent for eight straight months.  The Employment Security Department says the seasonally-adjusted jobless rate fell in August to five-point-seven percent, despite more people being added to the workforce.  The department says Washington added 26-hundred jobs last month.  August private-sector employment rose by 18-hundred jobs and government employment increased by 800.
