Family Of Kidnapped Girl Settling With State Of WA

(Seattle, WA)  --  The family of a six-year-old girl who was kidnapped two years ago in Seattle by a high-risk sex offender will receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in a settlement with the state.  The attorney for Robert and Vernee Fletcher tells KING-5 the Department of Corrections has agreed to pay the family 750-thousand dollars.  Attorney Julie Kays filed a lawsuit, saying the DOC should have known that Jesse Brisbin routinely violated his parole but was never punished for it.  The department says it won't comment on the case until the settlement is approved by the court.
