(Portland, OR) -- Portland police say an officer shot and killed a pit bull that was involved in a fight with two other dogs in the Multnomah Village area. Officers were dispatched yesterday to the Village Coffee Company on Southwest Capitol Highway in response to a report of the fight between one leashed dog and two unleashed canines. Police say one of the dogs, a seven-year-old pit bull named Piper, refused to calm down and was shot to death. The case is being turned over the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office.
