(Eugene, OR) -- Incumbent Governor Kate Brown says progress has been made during her time in office and she's not willing to go backward. Brown made the remarks during last night's debate in Eugene with challengers Bud Pierce and Cliff Thomason. Pierce, a Republican, says Oregon public schools slipped in the national rankings during Brown's stint as a state lawmaker. Thomason, a member of the Independent Party of Oregon, touted his plan to allow high school students to get GED certificates after tenth grade.
