(Portland, OR) -- Mayors from across the country, including Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, say they won't back down from their cities' status as sanctuaries for undocumented immigrants. Wheeler tells KOIN-TV he believes the city is already on strong constitutional ground and says Portland's sanctuary status is consistent with state law. Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle says he's confident Congress would help keep the city funded, noting that less than one percent of Beaverton's budget is from federal funds.
