(Portland, OR)  --  A man who assaulted a woman yesterday evening is behind bars following a police pursuit through Northeast Portland.  Police say the man, who was armed with a knife, assaulted the woman in the basement of a parking garage near the 2100 block of Northeast Halsey Street and ran from police when they arrived.  Police chased him through a Northeast Portland neighborhood and arrested him in an apartment.  Both the victim and the suspect were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
