(Tallahassee, FL) -- Forty Florida firefighters are heading for Oregon. State Forest Service Director Jim Karels says the rainy season has smothered most of the wildfires in the Sunshine State. So, instead of bringing people in from elsewhere to fight fires as was being done from March into June, now Florida can send personnel to assist other states. Right now, 100 Florida firefighters are helping to battle fires in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho and California.
