(Portland, OR) -- Governor Kate Brown is giving her approval to a five-point-three-billion-dollar transportation package. Brown signed the package yesterday afternoon. The package calls for a one-tenth of one-percent payroll tax to help fund public transit. Most of the money is expected to go to TriMet. The bill also calls for seismic upgrades to roadways all over the state, including a widening of Interstate 5 near the Rose Quarter.
