(Portland, OR) -- Hundreds of Timbers supporters joined NFL players yesterday in taking a knee during the national anthem. Organizers with the Timbers Army published a post on Facebook urging fans to take a knee or participate in whatever manner makes sense for them during the national anthem for yesterday's Timbers game at Providence Park. Several NFL players abstained from the national anthem during yesterday's football games after President Trump insisted Friday that players who take a knee during the anthem should be fired.
