(Ashland, OR) -- Two people were killed in a small plane crash in Southern Oregon Sunday morning, but the wreckage wasn’t found until Monday.
A State Police Fish and Wildlife trooper heard a low-flying plane with engine trouble, but the clouds were too low to see it. He heard it crash about a mile away. the wreckage was found by a helicopter.
Juan and Chantal Canopii, from Glendale, Oregon, were flying from Klamath Falls to Medford when their plane went down.
The plane has been identified as a Cirrus SR-22 and the investigation is still continuing to determine the cause and who was the pilot.
