Police Kill Escaped Dog That Tried To Bite Kids

(Woodburn, OR)  --  An investigation is under way into the deadly officer-involved shooting of a family dog.  Police in Woodburn say an officer shot the dog yesterday after she escaped from her yard and tried to bite several people, including children walking home from school.  Police say the officer opened fire as the dog charged at some children and other officers.  The dog's owner tells KATU she was forced to put the dog to sleep due to the extent of the gunshot wound.
