(Portland, OR) -- The number of students in Oregon who are without a home is up more than five-percent. A new count released yesterday shows more than 22-thousand of the state's K-12 students are homeless. The Portland and Beaverton school districts record the most with more than 15-hundred homeless students in each. Those tallies represent between three and four percent of the student body in the state's two largest districts. Smaller school districts are showing an increase of up to 30-percent in the number of homeless students and their families.
