OR Son Sentenced In Car Theft, Crushing Scheme

(Portland, OR)  --  A Portland man is going behind bars for crushing stolen cars and selling the scrap metal.  Tony Schneider Junior was sentenced today to two months in jail and five years of probation for running the scheme with his father, who is still awaiting his punishment.  Prosecutors say plea deals netted Schneider far less than the 20-year maximum for a racketeering charge.  The pair will also have to pay their victims nearly a half-million dollars for the cost of the stolen vehicles.
