(Portland, OR) -- A Portland state official is criticizing a recent request from Governor Kate Brown. Brown asked in an email to state employees that they send in their stories of innovation by the state. The most critical response came from Kim Sordyl, a non-voting member of the state Board of Education. She reportedly chastised Brown for having public employees "working on the campaign during work hours." "The Oregonian" reports that Sordyl is a Democrat who campaigned for Republican Secretary of State Dennis Richardson, who appointed Sordyl to the education board.
