Report: Man Killed By Portland Cops Once Belonged To White Supremacy Group

(Portland, OR)  --  New details are coming to light about the alleged link between a man shot and killed by Portland police and a white supremacy group.  "The Oregonian" reports that John Elifritz was quoted in a 2007 "Portland Monthly" article about European Kindred.  The Southern Poverty Law Center estimates the gang's membership at 300 in Oregon prisons and another hundred or so on the streets.  Elifritz was shot to death by Portland police officers Saturday inside Cityteam Ministries Portland Shelter.  They believed him to be a suspect in a carjacking earlier in the day and opened fire when he refused orders to drop his knife.
