(Portland, OR) -- Police say clashes between anti-fascist protesters and the Vancouver-based alt-right group Patriot Prayer turned into a riot Saturday in downtown Portland. The prayer group had organized for what they called a "freedom rally," but police revoked their permit when the clashes started. There were more than a hundred people on each side of the protests and police wearing riot gear were in place ahead of time. Four people were arrested on charges not related to the day's demonstrations, and five people including one officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
