(Portland, OR)  --  An investigation is ongoing into a mental health crisis that led to a woman's death in Fairview.  Police responded to a home in the 20600 block of Northeast Sandview Drive yesterday afternoon on reports of a woman acting strangely in the backyard while holding a handgun to her chest.  Responding officers and crisis negotiators spoke with the woman for three and a half hours before she shot herself.  First responders provided medical aid, but she died at the scene.  Police are encouraging anyone experiencing a mental health crisis to call the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Hotline at 503-988-4888.
