(Portland, OR) -- People who live in a southeast Portland apartment complex are planning a rent strike. The residents of Holgate Manor say their rents are being raised despite reports of pests, mold and leaks that have gone unrepaired. Tenant Sara Brassfield told The Oregonian that they want to impress upon the landlord the cost of renting homes not fit to live in while raising the rent. They're getting support from state Representative Rob Nosse, who said today that the people are engaging in "a righteous struggle."
