Police: Teen Hit By MAX Train Was Looking At Phone

(Portland, OR)  --  New details are coming to light regarding a teenage girl who was hit by a MAX train in Beaverton.  Police say the 17-year-old girl was looking at her cell phone while walking along the platform at the Merlo/Southwest 158th Avenue station yesterday afternoon when she stepped in front of an oncoming train.  She was taken to a hospital, where doctors say she's expected to make a full recovery.
