Convicted Murderer Arrested After Alleged Stabbing

(Portland, OR)  --  A convicted murderer is facing new charges after allegedly stabbing another man and then trying to explain away his bloody knife by saying he eats a lot of steak.  Police arrested Charles Jackson Monday for the stabbing near Northwest 14th and Glisan streets in the Pearl District.  Police say Jackson and the victim were arguing over a panhandling spot nearby when Jackson pulled out a knife and stabbed him.  Responding officers recovered the knife from Jackson, who denied stabbing anyone.  Police say they asked him why the knife was bloody, prompting him to allegedly respond that he "eats a lot of steak."
