Portland May Sue FCC Over New 5G Tech Rulings

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland may be filing suit against the Federal Communications Commission over new rulings on 5G.  The City Council voted yesterday to join other cities that are suing over new rules that limit fees charged to telecom providers.  Mayor Ted Wheeler called the restrictions a property grab by the federal government.  The Oregonian reports that providers need access to city-owned poles in order to install transmitters for 5G service.  A deputy city attorney told the council that one new rule would mean the city could charge only 270 dollars for each attachment, instead of the customary three-thousand.
