(Portland, OR) -- An investigation is ongoing into the discovery of a missing Salem woman's body in the Santiam State Forest. Police found the body of 35-year-old Amber Jayne Eldridge yesterday in steep terrain about 700 feet from her vehicle. Deputies had found Eldridge's one-year-old granddaughter safe inside that vehicle on Saturday morning. Investigators say Eldridge messaged a loved one Friday night saying she had driven to an area off Sawtell Road to get away for a bit and that her granddaughter was with her. Police say they don't suspect foul play in the death.
