(Portland, OR) -- A man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer and a woman with a pipe in southeast Portland. Police say officers responded to the 4100 block of Southeast Ivon Street Saturday night on reports of a man throwing objects at passing cars. A responding officer approached 36-year-old Tsegay Abraha, who allegedly struck the officer in the head with a pipe. The officer was reportedly able to detain the suspect until other officers arrived. Earlier that night, Abraha is accused of striking a woman in the arm with the pipe as she walked into her home.
