Police Arrest Two After Traffic Stop Turns Into Car Chase

(Portland, OR)  --  Two people are facing drug and gun charges after a traffic stop turned into a car chase in northeast Portland.  Police say an officer tried to pull over a driver for a traffic violation on Northeast Simpson Street late Wednesday night, but the driver allegedly took off, leading to a pursuit.  Police used an air support unit to track the suspect car, and police arrested two people after they fled the car on foot.  Police say they found methamphetamine and a gun near the suspects.  Police identify the suspects as Cody Charboneau and Wendy Ngirarois.
