Windstorm Downs Trees, Leaves Thousands Without Power

(Portland, OR)  --  Cleanup efforts continue in Portland and southwest Washington following a winter windstorm that left tens of thousands of people in the dark.  The National Weather Service says the storm brought peak wind gusts of 54 miles per hour to the Portland area overnight Saturday, bringing down trees and power lines.  Portland General Electric says at least 14-thousand customers were left without power in counties across Oregon, while Pacific Power says 13-hundred of their customers lost power.  In Clark County, nearly 70-thousand Clark Public Utilities customers were left in the dark.
