(Portland, OR) -- A paramedic is recovering from injuries after being stabbed by a man trying to get into his ambulance while it was stopped at a red light. Police say the ambulance was stopped at Southwest 5th and Sherman downtown yesterday when 38-year-old Jeremiah James Ray opened the vehicle's door and tried to get inside. A struggle ensued, and police say Ray stabbed the paramedic multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot. Police caught up to him a short while later and arrested him. The paramedic was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
