(Portland, OR) -- Testing is now complete on Oregon's backlog of rape kits. KATU reports the state has completed testing on the nearly three-thousand untested kits. The testing was completed with funding help from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, which offered its aid in 2015. The state has since passed a law requiring prompt testing of rape kits in honor of 14-year-old Melissa Bittler, who was killed by a rapist in 2002.
