Man Guilty Of Running Down Black Teen in 2016

(Portland, OR)  --  A man accused of running down a black teen in 2016 is guilty of murder.  In court yesterday, a jury also found 40-year-old Russell Courtier guilty of second-degree intimidation, which is a hate crime, and on a hit-and-run charge.  Courtier was fighting with 19-year-old Larnell Bruce outside a 7-Eleven in Gresham in August 2016.  Prosecutors said during trial that Courtier ran down Bruce with his car after losing the fight.  They added that it was racially motivated because Courtier was a member of a white supremacist group.  Courtier's girlfriend, 37-year-old Colleen Hunt, pled guilty to manslaughter as prosecutors say she could be heard egging Courtier on during the fight.
