Venue Change Request Denied For MAX Stabbing Suspect

(Portland, OR)  --  A judge is denying a change-of-venue request from MAX stabbing suspect Jeremy Christian.  Judge Cheryl Albrecht denied the request yesterday, saying adverse publicity in relation to the case does not rise to the extreme level so as to presume prejudice.  Christian is accused of stabbing three men on a MAX train in May of 2017, killing two of them.  Investigators say he stabbed the men after they confronted him about his racially-charged harassment of two Muslim women on the train.  Trial is scheduled to begin this June.
