Plastic Ban Bill Awaiting Gov. Brown's Signature

(Salem, OR)  --  A statewide ban on single-use plastic bags is awaiting Governor Kate Brown's signature.  The measure was passed by the Senate yesterday in a 17 to 12 vote.  Similar bans are already in place in ten Oregon cities.  Businesses will be able to provide consumers with recycled paper bags or reusable plastic bags for a fee of at least five-cents, paid by the consumer.
