Fire Burns Homeless Camp, Nearby Home In SE Portland

(Portland, OR)  --  No injuries are reported following a fire at a homeless camp that spread to a nearby house in southeast Portland.  Firefighters responded to the encampment on Southeast 96th Avenue yesterday afternoon.  Fire officials say the blaze burned tarps, shopping carts, a tree and some tents before spreading to the roof of a nearby home.  Crews had to cut a section of the home's roof away to battle the flames.  An investigation is ongoing.
