(Portland, OR) -- Portland Fire and Rescue is responding to an alarming number of homeless-related fires. New numbers show firefighters have put out more than one-thousand fires in Portland over the past three years, all homeless-related. The latest was on Monday when a camp went up in flames and about half an hour later the roof of a nearby home ignited. Officials say most of the calls are from garbage fires, fires caused by squatters, homeless camps and other homeless-related causes.
