Gov. Brown Signs Family Leave Bill Into Law

(Portland, OR)  --  Governor Kate Brown has signed Oregon's new family and medical leave legislation into law.  Under House Bill 2005, workers can take up to 12 weeks of paid time off that can be used to care for a newborn, help a family member recover from serious illness or stay home with a newly-adopted or foster child.  The law also extends the same privileges to illegal immigrants and part-time workers.
