(Portland, OR) -- A man is facing charges after allegedly crashing into a bicyclist and then leaving the scene in northwest Portland. Police say 24-year-old Joshua Hooper struck the bicyclist yesterday afternoon near Northwest 21st Avenue and Irving Street and then abandoned his vehicle to flee the scene on foot. He later turned himself in to police and was arrested on a charge of vehicular assault. The bicyclist was hospitalized and is expected to recover.
