(Hillsboro, OR) -- A man who struck and killed an eleven-year-old girl in her front yard last year is facing a four-year sentence minus time already served. David Herman has pleaded guilty to criminally-negligent homicide in the April 2013 death of Kylie Hornych [[ HOR-nitch ]] of Aloha. Prosecutors initially declined to charge Herman after he blamed a diabetic episode for causing the crash, but a later investigation revealed Herman had lied to police when he told them he'd never had an issue with diabetic symptoms while driving. Herman crashed into a tree in 2007 because of diabetes-related illness.
