Report: Crime On TriMet Buses, Trains Down 25 Percent

(Portland, OR)  --  TriMet officials say there's been a drop in reported crime aboard the transit agency's buses and trains.  Officials say the crime rate fell more than 25 percent from 2012 to 2013.  The figures are included in a preliminary report that won't be finalized until April.  Harry Saporta, who's in charge of TriMet safety and security, says the drop in reported crime is happening as the agency makes strides in increasing security for both riders and employees.
