The college division-1 baseball season begins today with the road to Omaha for the national championship and the Oregon state beavers are ranked as high as 5th in two of the major collegiate polls and the Oregon ducks 14th.

Oregon state opens the season today at noon in Surprise, Arizona taking on the MAC (mid-american conference) champion ball state cardinals.

The Beavers, who have made it to the postseason last 7 consecutive years, finished 2nd place in the pac-12 last season behind league champion UCLA.

Meantime, the Ducks open at San Diego state taking on the Aztecs.  Oregon finished 6th place in 2015.

The Beavers are picked by PAC-12 coaches to finish 2nd and the Ducks 5th.
